The Four Suits

The Minor Arcana is built from four suits, each tied to one of the classical elements. Cups speak the language of feeling and relationship. Wands carry inspiration, drive and creative fire. Swords map thought, conflict and clarity. Pentacles ground everything material — body, money, work, home.

Knowing the suit of a card tells you which life-area the message belongs to before you even read the number. A Cup in a career spread is rarely about the job itself — it is about how you feel about it.

A spread heavy in one suit is itself a message: too many Swords and you are over-thinking; too many Cups and you may be drowning in feeling without form.
