Career Tarot Spread

Use the Career spread for questions about work, money, a role change, a business decision, or a long-term path. It cuts through the noise of pros-and-cons lists by separating the present, the actual obstacle, the resource you already have, the next move, and the trajectory.

Overview

Five cards laid in a cross. The center card is the current career situation; the left card is the friction; the right card is the strength you already have; the bottom card is the immediate next move; the top card is where the path is heading. The spread's discipline is naming the obstacle and the resource separately, so you don't conflate them.

How it works

Shuffle with the career question in mind. Lay card 1 in the center, card 2 to its left, card 3 to its right, card 4 below, card 5 above. Read center first, then friction vs strength as a pair, then the action–outcome axis.

Where are you, in this career chapter?

The actual present, not the version you tell at parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the career spread answer money questions?

Yes — career and money questions share enough structure that the same five positions work. Replace 'career chapter' with 'money situation' in position 1 and read the same way.

What if I get mostly court cards?

Heavy court-card readings mean the situation is being driven by people more than by circumstance. Read each court card as a specific person in your work life and ask who fits.

Should I do this spread before or after a decision?

Before. Once a decision is made, you want the Three Card or Celtic Cross to read the new situation — the Career spread is built to find next moves, not to validate ones already taken.
